Gaseum
Am Dienstag, haben wir dann den ausgefallenen Gruga-Ausflug mit Sohnemanns Schulklasse nachgeholt und haben uns das Gaseum angeguckt.
200 Jahre Geschichte der Gasnutzung sind Thema unseres Gaseums in Essen, einer Einrichtung der E.ON Ruhrgas AG. Über 100 Exponate, vom Badeofen von 1908 über die geheimnisvollen „Opferanoden“ bis hin zu modernen Verdichterstationen mit Jetturbinen, veranschaulichen den Erfindungsreichtum und die Experimentierfreude mit der geheimnisvollen Materie Gas, deren Name sich vom griechischen Begriff Chaos ableitet. Die Ausstellung, die sich an Schulen, die breite Öffentlichkeit wie auch an den Fachkundigen richtet, will das unsichtbare Medium Gas sichtbar machen. Der Bogen spannt sich von den ersten tastenden Versuchen, die chemische und physikalische Beschaffenheit der Welt zu entschlüsseln, bis hin zu mannshohen Modellen modernster Erdgastechnik und Förderplattformen. Interaktive Medien bieten Einblicke von der Urzeit bis in die Zukunft. Im Gaslaboratorium wird der Besucher zum Forscher, der mit Experimenten und Spielobjekten nicht nur das Thema Erdgas, sondern auch die Physik und Chemie der Gase umfassend kennenlernt.
Wir haben eine Führung bekommen und durften danach noch einige Experimente ausprobieren. Besonderes Highlight war ein Aufzug, mit dem wir auf den Meeresgrund und noch tiefer in die geologischen Schichten einer Erdgaslagerstätte fahren konnten.
Unsere Kinder schrieben (nach Androhung eines Quiz) fleissig Informationen mit.
Ich fand die Modelle total interessant.

Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea
