Hach ja, mein Auto …
Mein erstes und einziges Auto. Eine große Liebe. Der Kleine war gebraucht und hatte schon ein paar Schrammen als ich ihn gekauft habe, aber es war Liebe auf dem ersten Blick. Tcha, und jetzt, 11 Jahre später macht er mir Kummer.
Im Frühjahr war schon eine große Reparatur und heute der TÜV. Irgendetwas ist mit den Radlagern der Hinterachse nicht okay und so verschlingt mein Kleiner “mal eben” wieder 570 €.
Hat jemand vielleicht einen Goldesel für mich *seufz* ?

McLaren’s new Senna hypercar – named after the race team’s most successful driver, Brazilian Ayrton Senna
- has been snapped on UK roads months before owners will be able to get their hands on it.
While most super-exotic cars undergo top-secret testing at the Nurburgring in Germany, the
British marque’s preposterous 789bhp racer for the road has been pictured driving on the M25.
Just 500 of the high-performance cars will be made – the
last of which was pre-sold at a charity auction for £2million –
but the select few keepers won’t have theirs delivered until October
this year.

A motorist photographed the £750,000 car being driven on the motorway near McLaren’s headquarters in Woking.
The eagle-eyed driver spotted the prototype vehicle on the move this week,
well ahead of the production car hitting the
road in the final quarter of this year.
The images, shot on a mobile device, show the car barely disguised in all black.

Telltale giveaways that it is McLaren’s second most potent road car – behind the
903bhp P1 – are the enormous tilting rear wing, huge carbon-fibre
difusser and triple exhaust outlets mounted above the brake
lights.
What’s not visible from the images are the see-through
dihedral doors, which McLaren said will help drivers
see the apex of corners on track – as well as make it easier not to kerb
the massive wheels when parking.
All 500 of the cars being made at the Surrey factory
have already been pre-sold to customers, though all will be specially customised to taste.
It’s difficult to tell from this smartphone image of the car on the
move, but the lower door panels have a see-through glass section to make it easier for drivers
to see how close the front wheels are to an apex
The clear sections of the doors should also make it easier for owners to park their £750k
cars without kerbing a wheel
The car – the second ‘Ultimate Series’ model in McLaren’s range – will be powered by a twin-turbo
V8 petrol engine that will slingshot the three-quarters of a million pound
motor from zero to 62mph in less than three seconds and on to
a top speed well in excess of 200mph.
The body, which is made entirely from lightweight carbon-fibre has been molded into a ‘teardrop’ shape for the most aerodynamic performance.
As the new images show, chiseled into the flanks are deep
gulleys designed to channel air down the sides of the vehicle and gaping vents and a roof funnel to cool the high-performance eight-cylinder engine.
The big giveaways that this is McLaren’s new ‘Ultimate Series’ Senna
model are the tilting rear spoiler, enormous carbon-fibre diffuser and triple exhaust outlet
sat above the tail section
Just 500 of the cars will be made, all of which
have already been pre-sold to customers who aren’t
expecting deliveries to arrive until October 2018
The Senna prototype pictured is powered by a twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine producing a staggering 789bhp
The car is a tribute to the late Ayrton Senna – the
three-time Formula One champion who lost his life in a crash at the 1994 San Marino
Grand Prix while driving for Williams.
Senna was part of the McLaren team between the 1988 and 1993 and remains the manufacturer’s most successful driver of all time.
Proceeds of the sales – including the £2 million auction of car number 500
- will be donated to the Instituto Ayrton Senna charity
for underprivileged children in his home nation of Brazil.
The car is a tribute to the late Ayrton Senna who died in 1994 during the San Marino Grand Prix.
He remains McLaren’s most successful driver of all time with three championship wins for the brand

Cindy Manley was a summer camp counselor in 1987
when a different devastating flood scarred the Texas Hill Country.
The Heart O´ the Hills camp is on the Guadalupe River, where a massive search continues for more than 160 people who are believed to still be missing after catastrophic flooding
over the July Fourth holiday. Decades earlier, Manley said there was
an informal system in place when the river started rising:
camps upstream would call down a warning and then get kids out of their
bunks and to higher ground.
During the flood of 1987, Manley recalled a floating canoe injuring camp director Jane Ragsdale.
But Ragsdale, 68, was among the more the than 100 victims who died in the flooding that began July 4, many of them in Kerr
County.
“This water, it did something different,” Manley said.
“Jane knows floods more than anybody else. There´s no way she would have been sitting in her house if she had thought this was dangerous.”
It is at least the fifth time in the last century that flooding near the Guadalupe River has turned deadly.
The area, which is known locally as “Flash Flood Alley,” has hills that
quickly gather water and funnel it into narrow river banks.
Water rises fast, catching people by surprise.
Here is a look at the river’s deadly history of
flooding.
This mid-July flood killed 10 teenagers and injured 33 others.
Water overwhelmed the river and its tributaries, forcing hundreds to flee.
At a Christian academy, buses evacuating children initially encountered modest flooding.
While some vehicles turned around in time, a bus and van were stranded when the river rose rapidly.
As the children were trying to leave the stranded buses to safety, a “wall of water, estimated to be as much as half a mile wide, rushed upon the campers,” according to a government report.
It scattered the kids. A bus with Seagoville Road
Baptist Church on the side was pictured slammed against tangled trees, at an angle
and partly under water.
The amount of rain was extraordinary – 30 inches fell on parts of the Hill Country between Aug.
1 and 3.
It killed 33 people. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said the flooding that hit the Hill Country struck early in the morning, “the worst possible time form the point of view of data collection, warning dissemination and community reaction.”
A large portion of the state flooded, killing at least 13 people and causing
vast damage, especially to agriculture. Month after month of 1991 was wetter than normal.
Then more than half of the state was hit with more than 4
inches (10 centimeters) of rain over a six-day period ahead
of Christmas. That caused flooding not only in the Guadalupe basin but created what officials
called “one of the most voluminous floods recorded in the history of the State of Texas.”
